Coldwater, Kansas is located in Comanche County in southwest Kansas on the Kansas - Oklahoma state line. Citizens are about an hour's drive from larger towns. Pratt, Kansas lies to the northeast, Dodge City, Kansas to the northwest, and Woodward, Oklahoma, to the south.

East/West Highway 160 and North/South Highway 183 pass through Coldwater.
